Intel's next-generation Nova Lake-S processors are now expected to launch in early 2027 alongside AMD's Olympic Ridge Zen 6 CPUs, according to recent leaks from prominent sources HXL and Golden Pig Upgrade. This marks a significant delay from Intel's previously planned late 2026 launch window, with both companies potentially unveiling their new architectures at CES 2027.

Earlier leaks had revealed exciting details about Nova Lake-S, including dramatically increased NPU performance reaching 74 TOPS and core configurations ranging from 12 cores on the low end to 52 cores on the high end. The chip lineup would feature a mix of P-cores, E-cores, and LP-cores across different tiers, from Ultra 3 to Ultra 9 models. These specifications suggested Intel was preparing a substantial generational leap in both AI capabilities and multi-threaded performance.

The delay appears linked to ongoing silicon and DRAM shortages affecting the entire PC industry, which may be forcing manufacturers to extend product cycles. This coordinated delay between Intel and AMD could reshape the competitive landscape for 2027, as both companies will enter the market simultaneously with their next-generation architectures after years of alternating launch schedules.
