Mortal Shell II has already launched into Advanced Access on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles ahead of its official August 20 worldwide release, and it appears to be quite successful already, with nearly 20,000 players logging into the new open‑world action RPG at the same time on Steam alone.

According to SteamDB, within five hours of launch, the game hosted as many as 19,242 peak concurrent players—more than ten times its predecessor’s peak on Steam, as recorded by SteamDB. The Advanced Access launch also enabled avid gamers to post early reviews, most of which sing its praises and earned it an 88% “Very Positive” rating on Steam.

Counting console play, day‑one advanced‑access peak concurrent players number well over 20,000. Mortal Shell II also topped the Steam Tom Sellers chart, reaching the top position in the US and second in global revenue, just behind Counter‑Strike 2.

In 525 player reviews so far, users frequently praise the Souls‑like combat, cohesive art style, optimized PC performance, and overall polish, although most have only a few hours of gameplay.
