Intel Nova Lake Processors Launch Late 2026

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan confirmed Core Ultra Series 4 "Nova Lake" processors will launch in late 2026, targeting desktop and other form factors. The flagship Nova Lake-S desktop chip will use a new Socket LGA1954 platform, replacing the current LGA1851. A refresh of the current generation, Arrow Lake Refresh, will arrive on LGA1851 by year's end.

Nova Lake represents a major architectural shift for Intel, aiming to reclaim performance leadership from AMD. It features a core count jump to 16 performance cores and 32 efficient cores, a new Xe3 "Celestial" iGPU, and a NPU meeting Copilot+ requirements. Special SKUs with BLLC (big last-level cache) will counter AMD's 3D V-Cache, while new Coyote Cove P-cores and Arctic Wolf E-cores promise improved IPC.

The design omits HyperThreading on P-cores, a decision Intel's CEO wishes to reverse, but compensates with more physical cores. This aggressive roadmap shows Intel is betting on sheer silicon volume and new cache strategies to compete in desktop gaming and content creation. The industry will watch for motherboard partner adoption and final performance benchmarks ahead of the 2026 launch.
