The Blood of Dawnwalker launched at the start of September with a strong start, selling over a million copies within the first week of launch. According to game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, an October update will add a new difficulty mode to address player feedback. The new easier mode will join the existing Story mode, which will be rebranded as Demanding, creating a more approachable experience for players who want to learn the story without combat challenges. After the patch, the game will have five difficulty settings in total: Story, Demanding, Fair, Challenging, and Duelist.

In addition to the difficulty changes, the October "big patch" will address numerous bugs, improve combat fluidity and intuitiveness, and enhance NPC responsiveness regarding wild animals. Performance optimizations for PC are also included in the update. Tomaszkiewicz hinted at a New Game Plus mode and adding more enemies to improve gameplay variety, though he could not confirm specifics, joking that details are restricted by the publishing team.
