The company has reportedly canceled plans for a more powerful Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, which would have featured higher clock speeds but the same core configuration as the 270K Plus. This decision addresses product overlap concerns, as Intel already offers the Core Ultra 9 285K from the regular Arrow Lake family.

By streamlining to just two high-end SKUs instead of three, Intel can simplify manufacturing and supply chain logistics.
