Intel's upcoming Arrow Lake Refresh Core Ultra 7 270K Plus processor has appeared in HP's HyperX OMEN desktop gaming PC, as spotted by @momomo_us. This unreleased chip represents the flagship of Intel's refreshed lineup, featuring 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores with 36 MB of shared L3 cache. While it operates at slightly lower clock speeds than the Core Ultra 9 285K, it's positioned as the top SKU in the refresh.

Recent rumors suggest Intel will unveil full specifications on March 11, with reviews following on March 23 and retail availability shortly after. The company has reportedly canceled plans for a more powerful Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, which would have featured higher clock speeds but the same core configuration as the 270K Plus. This decision addresses product overlap concerns, as Intel already offers the Core Ultra 9 285K from the regular Arrow Lake family.

By streamlining to just two high-end SKUs instead of three, Intel can simplify manufacturing and supply chain logistics. This strategic move allows the company to focus resources on preparing for the next-generation Nova Lake launch later this year, while still delivering competitive performance in its current desktop processor lineup.
