Icy Dock CP156 NVMe Enclosure Secures Paired SSDs for Transport

Icy Dock has unveiled the CP156 ToughArmor NVMe enclosure, a concept product designed to securely transport paired SSDs. The CP156 fits into standard 3.5-inch drive bays and holds two 7mm U.2/U.3 NVMe SSDs on a single removable tray, keeping them physically secured together.

Unlike traditional dual-bay designs where drives can be removed separately, the CP156 locks both SSDs in place with screws. This prevents accidental swapping during handling and ensures drive order remains fixed. The design specifically targets RAID configurations, mirrored datasets, and application-specific SSD pairs where maintaining correct drive sequence is critical.

The CP156 is built for Sneakernet workflows and controlled data transport between secured environments. Its unified tray design ensures SSD pairing and data structure integrity remain intact throughout transport cycles. Key features include PCIe 4.0 x4 interface with up to 64 Gbps throughput, SlimSAS 4i connection, full metal construction with EMI shielding, and hot-plug support.
