At the Advancing AI 2026 event, AMD unveiled its "physical AI" strategy, targeting robotics and embedded systems with new hardware and a partner network. The core of this initiative includes the Ryzen AI Embedded X100 Series processors, featuring Zen 5 CPU, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and XDNA 2 NPU, designed for demanding embedded applications. AMD projects the physical AI silicon market to reach $200 billion by 2035.

Complementing the processors is the Kria AI system-on-module (SOM) and Robotics Developer Platform. The Kria AI SOM, based on the X100 Series, offers a compact form factor and boasts deterministic control times. The Robotics Developer Platform is an integrated solution including the SOM, carrier card, software suite, and reference designs, aiming to accelerate autonomous robotics development.

The AMD Robotics Software Suite leverages ROCm and ROS 2, providing specialized SDKs and support for popular AI frameworks. To foster ecosystem growth, AMD launched the AMD Robotics Partner Network, an open initiative with over 30 partners across various domains, all supporting AMD platforms and open standards.
