At the 2026 International CES, AMD unveiled the Ryzen AI Halo, a first-party compact desktop evolving into a dedicated AI development platform. Built to rival NVIDIA's DGX Spark, this system is designed specifically for creating consumer AI applications. It features the powerful Ryzen AI Max 395+ processor, combining a 16-core Zen 5 CPU, an RDNA 3.5 iGPU with 40 compute units, and a Microsoft Copilot+ ready NPU delivering 50 TOPS.

The hardware is unified by up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory, ensuring robust performance for local model training and inference. AMD engineered an advanced cooling solution involving a baseplate, direct-touch heatpipes, and dual blowers to manage the thermal load of the 'Strix Halo' SoC. The unit supports Windows 11 and Linux, comes pre-loaded with hardware-optimized AI models, and is slated for a Q2 2026 release, signaling a major push into accessible AI development hardware.
