AMD RX 9050 Leaks With 8GB VRAM, More Cores Than 9060

AMD appears to be preparing an entry-level GPU to fill out its Radeon RX 9000-series lineup. According to a report from VideoCardz citing an AIB partner source, the upcoming RX 9050 will feature 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM and use a down-clocked variant of the Navi 44 chip found in the RX 9060.

The leaked spec sheet reveals some interesting choices. While the RX 9050 packs 2048 stream processors—up from 1792 in the 9060—its clock speeds are notably lower: a 1920 MHz game clock and 2600 MHz boost, representing a 13% and 20% reduction respectively. The card will require a minimum 450 W power supply and includes HDMI 2.1b and dual DisplayPort 2.1a outputs via a PCIe 5 ×16 interface.

These specifications are preliminary, and AMD hasn't officially acknowledged the card. The slower clocks suggest the 9050 will likely trail the 9060 in performance despite its higher core count. Some stream processors may be disabled to further differentiate the two models. A launch doesn't appear imminent given the early nature of these leaks.
