Laika's upcoming stop-motion film Wildwood has unveiled its first trailer, showcasing the studio's most ambitious project yet. The movie follows a young girl who journeys into a dangerous hidden forest to rescue her brother in a sweeping, darkly magical adventure shaped by love, power, and courage.

Director Travis Knight described Wildwood as requiring new creative tools, technology, and storytelling techniques to bring the source material to life. The film features 136 sets and 231 practical puppets, enhanced with visual effects.

The star-studded voice cast includes Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Prue, Jacob Tremblay as Curtis, and Carey Mulligan as Alexandra. Notable additions feature Mahershala Ali as Brendan the Bandit King, Angela Bassett as General the eagle, Jake Johnson and Maya Erskine as Prue's parents, and Tom Waits in an undisclosed role.

Wildwood is set to open in theaters on October 23, 2026.
