The first full trailer for DC Studios' Clayface has been released, previewing a film that leans into body horror and tragic thriller elements, inspired by the 1992 "Feat of Clay" episode of Batman: The Animated Series.

Originally developed by horror master Mike Flanagan, the project transitioned to director James Watkins after Flanagan exited due to scheduling conflicts. The script, with rewrites by Hossein Amini, retains Flanagan's original story, focusing on the origin of the Matt Hagen incarnation of Clayface. Hagen's journey from street kid to Hollywood star is shattered by disfigurement, leading him to experimental treatment that restores him but erodes his reality and fuels a revenge quest.

Tom Rhys Harries stars as Matt Hagen/Clayface. The cast also includes Naomi Ackie as Dr. Caitlin Bates, a fringe scientist and love interest, and Max Minghella as a Gotham detective dating Bates. The film is part of DC Studios' rebooted "Gods and Monsters" arc and follows Hagen's introduction in the animated Creature Commandos series.
