Ukraine has employed innovative tactics, using both flying drone carriers and drone boats to deploy ground robots directly into combat. These drone-assisted assaults allow slower, wheeled robots to bypass challenging terrain and Russian defenses, enabling them to carry out robotic amphibious operations.

This strategy serves to leverage Ukraine's proficiency with drones and robots to counteract Russia's numerical advantage in manpower and reduce risks for Ukrainian soldiers. On July 19, a Ukrainian hexacopter drone was observed carrying an ARK-1 robot, armed with anti-tank mines, toward Russian positions. While the success of this specific mission is unconfirmed, the method could enhance robot survivability by evading enemy surveillance and strikes.

In another instance on June 25, Ukrainian ground robots participated in an operation targeting the Kinburn Spit, a strategic peninsula in the Black Sea. Russian forces had occupied the spit since June 2022. The deployment of robots via drones and boats represents a significant development in Ukraine's ongoing adaptation of technology for battlefield advantage.
