The incident, which occurred during a Division Two match against Norton Cricket Club, shows a fielder appearing to click his fingers as the ball passes the bat, potentially mimicking an edge to deceive the umpire. The North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League has launched a full investigation into the matter following a formal complaint.

The player involved declined to comment, citing work commitments. Saltburn Cricket Club has also been contacted for comment. The league stated that no further comments would be made until the investigation is complete. Saltburn currently leads the Division Two table.
