Russell Wilson is officially retiring from the NFL after 14 seasons to become an analyst for CBS Sports on 'The NFL Today.' The former Seattle Seahawks quarterback announced his transition on social media, expressing gratitude for continuing his relationship with football through broadcasting.

Wilson leaves the game as a 10-time Pro Bowl selection who threw for 46,966 yards with 353 touchdown passes and 114 interceptions. He spent his first decade in Seattle, leading the Seahawks to their Super Bowl XLVIII victory in 2013. The quarterback later played for Denver, Pittsburgh, and New York before stepping away.

The 5-foot-11 signal-caller made history as the shortest starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl. He joins exclusive company as one of only seven quarterbacks to reach 10 Pro Bowls and is the only player to record at least 30 touchdown passes with fewer than 15 interceptions in four consecutive seasons.

Wilson will replace Matt Ryan on CBS's pregame show after Ryan became Atlanta Falcons president. He considered a 15th season with the Jets before finalizing his broadcasting move, bringing his veteran perspective to NFL coverage.
