Real Madrid is reportedly preparing to make an offer for Manchester City midfielder Rodri. Initial contact has allegedly been made with City, with Real Madrid willing to pay between £43m-£51m (€50m-€60m) for the Spanish international, who has one year remaining on his contract.

Manchester City, however, is keen to retain Rodri and hopes to agree on a new long-term deal. Rodri recently underwent back surgery and is expected to miss the Community Shield and the Premier League opener. City aims for him to be a key part of the new Enzo Maresca era.

Real Madrid, under president Florentino Perez, is looking to strengthen their squad. They have already signed Marc Cucurella and are now targeting Rodri. City, meanwhile, is reportedly progressing in their pursuit of Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille.
