Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to return to play after his doping ban was resolved. The 25-year-old had not played competitively since November 2024, having been suspended for four years for failing a drug test that revealed a low concentration of meldonium two years prior.

Mudryk appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Changes to World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) procedures meant that a similar failed test today would not have resulted in charges. The FA stated that while changes are not retroactive, Mudryk's sample, if collected now, would not have been reported, thus no violation would have occurred.

As a result, the FA and Mudryk, with WADA's agreement, have resolved the appeal. Mudryk accepted the Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) charged and acceded to a period of ineligibility equal to the time served. He is now eligible to return to competition immediately. Chelsea welcomed the decision, stating they will support his "reintegration into the squad" and "helping him resume his career". Mudryk expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return after what he described as "the most difficult period of my career".
