World No.1 Nelly Korda captured the US Women’s Open at Riviera Country Club, edging Charley Hull by one shot. The victory marked her second straight major and fourth LPGA win of the season, making her the youngest American since 1960 to claim four majors and securing the third leg of a career Grand Slam. Birdies on the first two holes Sunday kept her ahead.

Korda first entered the Open as a 14‑year‑old qualifier in 2013, later posting three top‑10 finishes before finishing runner‑up last year. A shaky opening‑round 73 left her seven strokes back, but back‑to‑back 67s vaulted her into the lead, and a birdie on the 17th sealed the triumph despite a late charge from Hull. She credited caddie Jason McDede for steady counsel during the final stretch.

The win pushes Korda to 19 LPGA victories, leaving her just two points shy of LPGA Hall of Fame eligibility and matching Inbee Park as the only player to win the first two majors of a calendar year. With the Women’s PGA, Evian and AIG majors ahead, a single additional title would complete her career Grand Slam. It also leaves her one win short of the season record.
