Michael Carrick dropped Bruno Fernandes but saw Manchester United suffer a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford. The loss extended United's winless run to seven games, leaving them 16th in the table and one point above the relegation zone. Bournemouth dominated from the start, taking the lead before halftime through a combination of defensive errors by Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro.
Marcus Tavernier doubled the lead before the break, while Evanilson added a third after Lisandro Martinez's introduction. Fernandes remained on the bench as Carrick opted for Matheus Cunha at half-time. The result heaps further pressure on Carrick, with fans directing chants of 'sacked in the morning' at the Glazer family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Marco Rose's Bournemouth, meanwhile, secured back-to-back wins and four victories in all competitions. Carrick admitted it was 'a tough day' for his players, acknowledging the team is 'disjointed' and 'divided' as his job security comes under intense scrutiny.
