Gary Neville launched a scathing attack on Manchester United's players, accusing them of downing tools after their 3-0 loss to Bournemouth at Old Trafford. The defeat extended United's winless run to eight games, putting Michael Carrick's future as head coach in serious doubt. Neville fears Carrick is facing the sack and accused the players of a lack of professionalism, stating it was "a shocker today, a nothing of a performance."
He criticized the team's pattern of "nothings, of players switching off and downing tools," citing Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez's public criticism of Carrick's tactics. Neville praised Carrick as "a man of integrity, of credibility, of decency, of professionalism" and warned the players are "nothing, some of those players."
The pundit hopes Carrick doesn't bear the full brunt of United's struggles and fears they could go another decade without a Premier League title without changes at the club.
