Serhii Bohachuk, a 30‑year‑old Ukrainian rising star, eyes his first major test against Shane Mosley Jr. The bout, set for Sunday night in Las Vegas, marks a turning point for a fighter who once struggled with poverty. Now owning a house and a car, Bohachuk says victory means more than a title—it means proof for his family.

Bohachuk credits the Klitschko brothers for igniting his ambition. Growing up in Vinnytsia with little food, he idolised Wladimir and Vitali, believing their success proved a Ukrainian champion was possible. After defeating Olympic gold medallist Roniel Iglesias in the World Series of Boxing, he has amassed 28 wins, with only two losses to Brandon Adams and Vergil Ortiz.

Adding personal stakes, Bohachuk will be the first to bring his 62‑year‑old mother to a professional fight. After only two trips to Europe and Moscow, she will witness him in Las Vegas for the first time. The Ukrainian says the opportunity fuels his drive, insisting that hard work turns possibility into reality.

On Sunday, the 160lbs bout will test Bohachuk’s power and technique against Mosley’s experience. With a record of 28‑2, he has shown he can adapt, moving up from 155 to 160 to feel stronger. The result will decide whether his dream of becoming a champion—and lifting his family—becomes a reality.
