Mosley Jr Stops Bohachuk in Sixth Round at Zuffa Boxing 06

Shane Mosley Jr announced himself back to the middleweight division with a stunning sixth-round stoppage of favourite Serhii Bohachuk at Zuffa Boxing 06 in Las Vegas. The American (23-5, 5 KOs) had not won by knockout in three years but showed no fear against the heavily favoured Ukrainian, who previously held secondary and interim titles at super-welterweight.

Mosley Jr grew into the fight as rounds progressed, consistently countering Bohachuk's advances with impressive combination punching. An early knockdown in the sixth round saw the Ukrainian use all his ten seconds to recover, but his resistance didn't last long. Another brutal right hand followed by a flurry against the ropes forced the referee to stop the contest with 2:38 remaining.

The win reignites what was a stagnating career for Mosley Jr following a unanimous decision loss to Jesus Ramos in December. After the fight, he said: "I wanted to do this sport for me. I told everybody when I was 15 years old - when I got punched in the nose, I wanted to get back."
