The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will remain on the Formula 1 calendar through 2032 under a new rotation agreement with the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. The Spanish venue had faced uncertainty after Madrid was announced as a new race for the 2026 season, which would have created two Spanish events.

Barcelona will host Grands Prix in 2028, 2030, and 2032, alternating with Belgium's traditional venue. The deal comes as the circuit undergoes significant upgrades including a new rooftop, hospitality facilities, and solar panel installations. Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali praised the city's passionate fans and the circuit's recent investments in fan experiences.

The Barcelona race has been renamed the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix after losing its Spanish Grand Prix designation to the Madrid street race, which becomes a permanent fixture through 2035. The 2026 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix in March, with the first Barcelona race under its new name scheduled for June 12-14.
