The Washington Capitals secured forward Justin Sourdif on Tuesday, signing the 24-year-old to an eight-year contract worth $6.35 million annually. Sourdif, a native of Richmond, British Columbia, recorded 15 goals and 35 points in 78 games during the 2025-26 season. He joins a core of a dozen Capitals players with multiple years remaining on their deals.

Sourdif previously finished as a restricted free agent after his two-year, $825,000 annual contract. His extension joins teammate Ryan Leonard, who also signed an eight-year, $10.5 million deal starting in 2026-27. The Capitals finished the season four points out of the final Eastern Conference wild-card spot.
