The Philadelphia Union is finalizing the transfer of defender Mark McKenzie from Toulouse, a source confirmed to ESPN. McKenzie, 27, will sign as a Designated Player and arrive in January 2027, ahead of MLS's Sprint Season. The transfer fee is around $2.5 million, per sources. The Athletic was first to report the news.

McKenzie is a product of the Union's academy, making his first-team debut in 2018. He recorded 59 appearances and two goals for Philadelphia, helping the club win the 2020 Supporters' Shield. In 2021, he moved to Belgian side Genk, claiming the 2021 Belgian Cup. Most recently, he spent two seasons with Ligue 1 club Toulouse.

At the international level, McKenzie has earned 30 caps for the U.S. men's national team. He started in the 2026 World Cup, playing the full 90 minutes in the 3-2 group-stage loss to Türkiye.

The proposed move marks the second time this season the Union has re-signed a former player to a DP contract, following left back Kai Wagner's return from Birmingham City earlier this year.
