Manchester City have completed the £20 million signing of England centre-back Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace. The 25-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half year contract, keeping him at the Etihad until 2031. He arrived in Manchester on Sunday for his medical and will be eligible for his Premier League debut against Wolves this Saturday.

The move was accelerated due to defensive injuries to Josko Gvardiol, Rúben Dias, and John Stones. City had already identified Guéhi as a summer target when his Palace contract situation suggested a potential free transfer. Director of Football Hugo Viana called Guéhi one of England's best defenders, entering his prime years.

Guéhi becomes City's second January signing, following Antoine Semenyo's £64m arrival from Bournemouth. Both are ineligible for Tuesday's Champions League match against Bodo/Glimt but can be registered for the knockout rounds. City sources view these high-profile signings as proof their project remains a top destination for elite talent.
