Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace, sources tell ESPN. The England defender is expected to sign a long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium in the coming days. Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirmed Guéhi would not play on Saturday, stating a final agreement is imminent.

City are set to pay a base fee of around £20 million, plus add-ons, for a player who was due to be a free agent this summer. The 25-year-old has verbally agreed a five-and-a-half year deal. This move accelerates after City lost centre-backs Josko Gvardiol, Rúben Dias, and John Stones to injury.

Guéhi was a long-term target for Pep Guardiola's side. A move to Liverpool fell through last summer, and he attracted interest from clubs across Europe expecting him to leave Palace on a free transfer. His arrival will bolster City's defensive depth as they chase more silverware.
