Liga MX Femenil has rebranded to Liga Femenil BBVA and will implement a new regular season format. The league will now consist of two groups of nine teams, determined by Elo rankings and geographical locations. Each team will play eight games within their group and six against teams from the opposing group, reducing the total regular season games from 17 to 14.

Similar to the men's league, there will be two seasons annually: Apertura and Clausura, both concluding with playoffs. The playoff structure has been adjusted for the two groups. In the quarterfinals, the top four teams from each group will advance, with cross-group matchups. Semifinal rankings will be based on the overall league table.

These changes aim to eliminate mid-week matches, with games primarily scheduled from Fridays to Sundays. Club América is the current champion, having won the Clausura final. The league's exhibition match, "Campeón de Campeonas," will feature Club América against Tigres on July 26. The revamped league officially begins its 2026 Apertura season on July 31.
