Detroit's Patrick Kane scored twice in a 5-2 win over Calgary, moving into fourth place on the all-time goals list for U.S.-born NHL players with 504 career goals. The 19th-year veteran surpassed Joe Mullen's 502 goals and now trails only Mike Modano, Keith Tkachuk, and Jeremy Roenick in the American-born scoring hierarchy.

Kane's milestone came during a dominant second period where Detroit scored three times in 5:34 to break open a close game. The Red Wings' victory snapped a three-game losing streak and moved them into a tie with Montreal for third in the Atlantic Division. Detroit currently holds the first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Beyond Kane's achievement, Detroit got goals from Emmitt Finnie, Moritz Seider, and Dominik Shine. Alex DeBrincat added three assists while John Gibson made 25 saves. For Calgary, Morgan Frost opened the scoring but the Flames fell to 1-4 on their five-game Eastern Conference road trip, continuing their struggles as the NHL's second-worst team.
