MSG Sports executive chairman James Dolan has appointed his 32-year-old son, Quentin Dolan, to oversee the day-to-day operations of the New York Rangers. The announcement places Quentin in the roles of president, COO, and alternate governor for both the NHL club and its AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. This move signifies a significant shift in leadership for the storied franchise.

Quentin Dolan, who previously served as senior VP of player performance and science leader for the Rangers and Knicks, will report directly to his father. Rangers GM Chris Drury will continue his hockey operations duties, now reporting to Quentin. This organizational change comes after the Rangers missed the playoffs for two consecutive seasons, following their 2024 conference finals appearance.

James Dolan is stepping back from daily oversight, entrusting his son with guiding the team's direction. Quentin Dolan expressed his honor and desire to support the hockey staff and players. He stated his ultimate goal is winning a championship, aiming to continue his family's legacy with the team.

Drury voiced confidence in Quentin's ability to strengthen the organization, emphasizing collaboration to position the team for Stanley Cup contention. Quentin joined MSG Sports in 2022, bringing a background in sports management from NYU.
