The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a three-year, $36.75 million contract with cornerback Jamel Dean, his agent Erik Burkhardt confirmed to ESPN. The 29-year-old brings seven years of NFL experience, including being the last remaining player from Tampa Bay's Super Bowl LV championship team.

Dean's 2025 season showed flashes of elite play despite injury concerns. He recorded a career-high three interceptions and allowed just 41.7% completion percentage when targeted, ranking tops among cornerbacks with 100+ coverage snaps. However, he missed three games due to hip and shoulder injuries, part of a pattern that's seen him miss 21 regular season games over his career.

The deal comes after Dean agreed to a significant paycut in 2025, reducing his base salary from $12.5 million to $4.25 million. At 6-foot-1 and 206 pounds, Dean ran a 4.30 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, placing him among the fastest cornerbacks in combine history.
