Nick Emmanwori is expected to miss training camp but be ready for Week 1 after right ankle surgery. The Seahawks placed the standout safety on the physically unable to perform list Monday. A 2025 second-round pick, Emmanwori dealt with two right ankle injuries as a rookie.

He suffered a high sprain in the season opener, missing four games, then a low sprain days before Super Bowl LX but played through it. After managing the ankle over the offseason, continued soreness led to an arthroscopic procedure earlier this month.

Emmanwori emerged as a versatile playmaker for Seattle's top-ranked scoring defense, recording 11 passes defended, 2.5 sacks and an interception in 14 games, finishing second in AP Rookie of the Year voting. Also placed on PUP: Zach Charbonnet (ACL recovery), Kenny McIntosh, Tyrone Broden and Deven Eastern. First practice is Saturday; season opens Sept. 9 against New England in a Super Bowl rematch.
