Rozeboom Joins Bucs After Panthers Tenure

Linebacker Christian Rozeboom is leaving the Carolina Panthers to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, agents confirmed to NFL Network. The move keeps him in the NFC South after Rozeboom led Panthers with 122 tackles last season. The 29-year-old undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State becomes the second Panthers defender to join division rival Bucs this offseason after defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson.

Carolina signed Rozeboom to a one-year, $2.5 million deal last March to add veteran depth. He ended up starting 15 games when injuries struck and the team released Josey Jewell due to concussion issues. While solid against the run, Rozeboom struggled in pass coverage, which hurt Carolina during their playoff push. He spent four seasons with the Rams before Carolina.

The Panthers continue roster turnover after their NFC South championship season. Rozeboom appeared in 60 games with 16 starts across his four seasons in Carolina. His departure follows the team's decision to release defensive tackle Robinson earlier this month, who quickly signed with Tampa Bay.
