Chelsea are prepared to sell Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City for the right price, according to Sky Sports. The Argentina midfielder was left out of Thursday's Carabao Cup win over Luton, with no club-to-club talks having taken place yet. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso confirmed Fernandez is a "good professional" who has been training well, adding a final decision on his availability for Sunday's match against Brighton will be made closer to the time.

Chelsea had agreed Fernandez could be sold for £120m by the August 14 deadline, but no offer arrived. Alonso stated the club is "prepared for whatever" happens with any players who could leave before the transfer window closes. Meanwhile, Manchester City's interest continues despite missing the deadline to bid.

City are also targeting Bournemouth's Alex Scott, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, and Roma's Manu Kone to reinforce central midfield, especially after Rodri's departure to Barcelona earlier this month. Recent departures include Nico Gonzalez to Newcastle for up to £50m, Tijjani Reijnders to Al Qadsiah for £51m, and Bernardo Silva joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.
