The Miami Dolphins are releasing veteran pass rusher Bradley Chubb after four seasons with the franchise, a source confirmed to ESPN. The move comes as the Dolphins look to create salary cap space, with Chubb having two seasons remaining on his contract. The Dolphins will save $7.3 million against the cap immediately.

If the Dolphins designate Chubb's release as a post-June 1 transaction, the cap savings would increase to $20.2 million. The 29-year-old defensive end had 8.5 sacks last season, starting all 17 games after missing the entire 2024 season with a torn ACL. Chubb has accumulated 22 sacks in 41 games with Miami since being acquired from the Denver Broncos in a 2022 trade.

Drafted fifth overall by Denver in 2018, Chubb has recorded 48 sacks over his eight-year NFL career. The Dolphins' decision to part ways with Chubb represents a significant shift in their defensive strategy as they prepare for the 2026 season under new head coach Jeff Hafley.
