HOUSTON -- After wideout Tank Dell's second consecutive practice, he said he "wants to be better than where he left off" for the Houston Texans. There's no timetable for his regular-season return, and when asked about Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, he said, "I'm taking it one day at a time."

Friday was Dell's second practice of training camp, limited but another step in recovery. Dell missed all of 2025 after suffering multiple torn ligaments and a dislocated kneecap in the Texans' Week 16 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, on a touchdown catch from C.J. Stroud. He has no fear about his knee, saying Houston's doctor deemed it "100 percent stable."

Dell said the hardest part was the mental aspect, as he hadn't practiced since December 2024. He put trust in God, stating, "His plans can't be denied." He added, "The mental aspect of it is the hardest thing you try to get over."

Coach De Meco Ryans said they're "excited" to see Dell complete this triumph story, as he hasn't played in 594 days. "Everybody understands his type of personality, his joy and love for football," Ryans said. "You want to see that comeback story come to life."
