Harry Kane provided two assists as Bayern Munich defeated Mainz 2-1 in the Bundesliga. Joshua Kimmich opened the scoring in the 14th minute after a Kane assist, and Lennart Karl doubled the lead in the 57th minute, also set up by Kane. Mainz pulled one back through Phillip Tietz late in the game, but it wasn't enough.
The win extended Bayern's unbeaten start to the season and marked their fourth victory in their last five matches across all competitions. Kane, fresh off winning the Ballon d'Or, was instrumental despite not scoring, creating chances and setting up both goals. Bayern's defense held firm, with goalkeeper Manuel Neuer making his 550th appearance before being substituted due to injury.
The victory also extended Bayern's unbeaten away run in the league to 31 games.
