Cardinals QB Brissett Skips Workouts Over Contract

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett has not attended the team's offseason program as he awaits a new contract, sources told NFL Network. The veteran signal-caller is scheduled to earn a base salary of $4.88 million in 2026, with only $1.5 million guaranteed. After starting 12 games last season following Kyler Murray's injury, Brissett is seeking an extension to his current deal.

Brissett can earn up to $510,000 in active roster bonuses, $50,000 in a workout bonus, and $2 million in incentives. The situation has created uncertainty around the Cardinals' quarterback room, especially after the team signed Gardner Minshew to a deal with $5.14 million guaranteed this season. Brissett was not informed he would be the starter in 2026 after Murray's release in March.

The possibility of Brissett missing voluntary workouts under new coach Mike LaFleur was discussed months ago, according to sources. During Arizona's predraft news conference, neither general manager Monti Ossenfort nor LaFleur committed to a starter, with LaFleur stating they're focused on establishing the system's foundation.
