The Denver Broncos are making significant changes to their linebacker corps, re-signing Alex Singleton to a two-year, $15.5 million contract while releasing Dre Greenlaw just one year into his three-year, $31.5 million deal. Singleton's new contract includes $11 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports.

Singleton's return comes after a remarkable comeback season where he led the Broncos in tackles with 135, playing just weeks after surgery for testicular cancer. The 32-year-old has been a tackling machine since joining Denver in 2022, leading the team in tackles in three of four seasons and amassing 768 career tackles across seven NFL seasons. His journey from being a special teams standout in Philadelphia to becoming Denver's defensive leader underscores his value to the organization.

Greenlaw's release creates approximately $4 million in salary cap savings but carries a $6.33 million dead cap charge. The 28-year-old struggled with injuries throughout his lone season in Denver, missing the offseason program and the first six regular-season games with thigh injuries. His season was further marred by a suspension for confronting referee Brad Allen after a game against the New York Giants, complicating what was already a disappointing tenure.
