Brissett Ends Holdout, Reports to Cardinals Minicamp Without New Deal

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett will attend mandatory minicamp this week, ending his offseason holdout, sources confirmed to ESPN. Brissett missed all of the team's Phase 1 and Phase 2 activities plus three organized team activities while seeking a restructured contract.

The veteran signal-caller avoided $107,911 in potential fines by reporting to Tempe. His current $4.88 million deal has only $1.5 million guaranteed, significantly less than backup Gardner Minshew's $5.14 million guaranteed for 2026. Negotiations remain stalled with both sides still far apart on terms.

Brissett enters minicamp as the presumptive starter after 12 games started last season when Kyler Murray went down with injury. From Week 6 onward, he ranked as the NFL's top quarterback in several statistical categories, finishing second in passing yards and fourth in completion percentage above expected.

While his presence satisfies team requirements, the contract impasse suggests ongoing tension between player and organization as training camp approaches.
