The Toronto Raptors will retire Kyle Lowry's No. 7 jersey, making him the second player in franchise history to receive the honor alongside Vince Carter. The ceremony is set for Jan. 10 following the team's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Lowry's hometown and the team he closed out his career with. Lowry, 40, signed a one-day contract with the Raptors on July 7—matching his jersey number—and officially announced his retirement after a 20-year NBA career.

"I've been looking forward to this moment for years. I always said that Toronto is home, and that I'd retire a Raptor, and to see my No. 7 go up in that building is going to mean everything to me," Lowry said in a statement. "We built something special here -- my teammates, the organization, the city and the fans, and all of Canada. We became champions together."

Lowry was a six-time All-Star during his nine seasons with the Raptors and helped lead the team to its first NBA championship in 2018-19. Over his career, he averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.0 assists across 1,187 regular-season games, ranking 14th in NBA history with 2,209 made 3-pointers. The Raptors previously retired Carter's No. 15 in November 2024.
