Memphis Grizzlies cemented their rebuild by selecting Duke forward Cameron Boozer with the No. 3 pick in Tuesday night’s NBA draft in Brooklyn. The 18‑year‑old, a 6‑foot‑8 versatile scorer, posted 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 39.1% from three in his lone college season. His arrival adds a proven talent to a roster reshaping after Ja Morant’s uncertain status.

General manager Zach Kleiman reminded fans that Memphis still holds two first‑round selections within the top 32, underscoring a draft board crowded with assets. Alongside Boozer, the Grizzlies own forwards Cedric Coward, Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey, a trio expected to accelerate the rebuild that began after the 2025 dismissal of coach Taylor Jenkins. The infusion of scoring aims to offset the void left by Ja Morant.

Boozer’s 39.1% three‑point shooting stretches Memphis’ floor, giving coach Tuomas Iisalo a perimeter option and a playmaker beside Coward. At 18, he inherits a pedigree as the son of two‑time All‑Star Carlos Boozer and enters a frontcourt that could pair with Edey for an inside presence. With Morant unlikely to move before summer free agency, Memphis leans on its youthful core to define the season.
