Curry's 10-Day Absence Deepens Warriors' Playoff Woes

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will miss another 10 days with a persistent right knee issue, the team announced Wednesday. The seven-time All-Star has already missed 15 consecutive games with patellofemoral pain syndrome, commonly known as 'runner's knee,' which causes swelling and pain around the kneecap.

Curry had been progressing in his recovery, advancing to court work in recent days, but the unpredictable nature of the injury has forced another setback. Team sources describe Curry as extremely motivated to return for the stretch run, but he's already experienced multiple delays since the issue first appeared during an individual workout in Minneapolis on January 24.

The timing couldn't be worse for the Warriors, who have lost three straight games and dropped below the LA Clippers into the ninth seed at 32-33. They appear increasingly destined for a 9-versus-10 play-in game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Curry will miss five more games, including Friday's home contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves and road games against the New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Detroit Pistons.
