Stephen Curry has officially ended his sneaker free agency by signing a landmark 10-year endorsement deal with Chinese sportswear giant Li-Ning. The agreement marks a significant shift for one of the NBA's biggest stars, who departed Under Armour in November after a 13-year partnership. Curry's agent Jeff Austin completed negotiations in recent days, with the partnership announced on social media Monday.

The deal expands Curry's existing Curry Brand venture globally and includes basketball products, athleisure wear, and a full golf line. Notably, Curry will have the ability to sign both male and female athletes under his brand umbrella. This represents a major international push for Li-Ning, which plans to build Curry Brand stores in both the United States and China.

Curry chose Li-Ning over competing offers from American and foreign companies. His decision stemmed partly from comfort testing shoes worn by Li-Ning signature athletes Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade. The Warriors star had sparked high-profile recruitment speculation during a San Antonio road trip, wearing Nike Kobe 6 'Mambacita' sneakers to warm up before testing various brands throughout the following months.

The partnership comes after Curry's mutual split from Under Armour, where industry sources indicated growing frustration over underinvestment from a brand experiencing declining valuation. This move gives Curry complete creative control over his brand while providing Li-Ning a premier NBA ambassador for Western market expansion.
