Quarterback Russell Wilson is close to signing with CBS Sports as an analyst, sources told ESPN. The 37‑year‑old former 10‑time Pro Bowler had also fielded a backup offer from the New York Jets but indicated last month he was weighing a TV role. Wilson’s move ends a playing career that spanned Seattle, Denver, Pittsburgh and New York. He will appear on Sunday mornings.

He retires with 46,966 yards, 353 touchdowns and 114 interceptions. Those numbers rank fifth in passing yards since 2012, trailing only Stafford, Brady, Rodgers and Ryan, and place him third in touchdowns behind Rodgers and Stafford. Wilson also sits fourth all‑time in quarterback rushing yards with 5,568, a mark eclipsed only by Jackson, Vick and Newton. His 44 long‑distance TDs top the league since 2012.

Wilson will take over the pre‑game booth from Matt Ryan, who left CBS to become president of football for the Atlanta Falcons. Joining James Brown, Nate Burleson and Bill Cowher, he adds a Super Bowl pedigree and deep‑ball expertise to the broadcast. The analyst lineup now features one of the league’s most accomplished passers.
