Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton exited Tuesday night's 4-2 loss to the Athletics in Sacramento, California, appearing to injure his hip while fielding Henry Bolte's triple in the bottom of the seventh inning. Buxton reached for the ball as it bounced in the outfield and walked gingerly before being met by the Twins' training staff.

The 32-year-old has already been placed on the injured list twice this season for right hip injuries. He landed on the IL on July 7 with a strain/impingement that forced him to miss the All-Star Game. He was activated on July 20 only to be sent back to the IL on July 29 after aggravating the injury.

"I think the thing is, he's been dealing with the hip issue," Twins manager Derek Shelton said. "And I think it kind of caught when he went to stop on the ball that got hit in the gap."

Buxton, who was 0-for-3 batting out of the No. 2 hole, is hitting .254 this season with 25 home runs and 46 RBIs.
