Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton, who has missed 14 games with a right hip impingement, has been activated off the injured list prior to the Field of Dreams game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night in Iowa. After missing nine games as well as the All-Star Game due to the same hip injury, Buxton was activated July 20 but reaggravated the injury a week later and returned to the IL.

Buxton, 32, is batting .263 with 25 home runs, 45 RBIs and seven stolen bases in 82 games this season. However, he hasn’t homered since June 22 and has a .160 batting average with no extra-base hits since returning from his first IL stint.

Entering Thursday’s game, the Twins (60-62) are 3½ games behind the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central and a half-game out of the final wild-card spot.
