Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton has been placed back on the 10-day injured list due to a right hip impingement. This marks his return to the IL after being activated just a week prior, on July 20, having already missed nine games and the All-Star Game with the same issue. Buxton reaggravated the injury during Tuesday's victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Buxton, 32, has been batting .263 with 45 RBIs and seven stolen bases this season. Despite speculation surrounding the upcoming MLB trade deadline on Monday, the Twins have stated they do not intend to trade the veteran. Buxton has expressed his desire to stay in Minnesota and possesses a full no-trade clause in his contract, which he signed in December 2021 for seven years and $100 million.

The Twins currently sit at 54-54, trailing the Chicago White Sox by two games in the AL Central and are half a game out of the final AL wild card spot.
