The Minnesota Twins activated catcher Ryan Jeffers from the 10-day injured list Friday, ending a nearly two-month absence. Jeffers, 29, fractured his left hamate bone earlier this season. Before his injury, Jeffers was having a strong offensive year, batting .295 with a .949 OPS, seven home runs, and 26 RBIs in 37 games.

Jeffers completed a rehab assignment in Triple-A, where he batted .375 with two home runs in five games. His return provides a significant boost to the Twins' lineup. In his seventh season with the club, Jeffers has hit 75 career home runs in 552 games.

To accommodate Jeffers' return, the Twins optioned outfielder Kyler Fedko to Triple-A. Fedko struggled in his brief stint with the major league club, going hitless in 16 at-bats over 14 games. Jeffers' activation strengthens the Twins' roster as they continue their season.
