Seattle Mariners beat the Chicago Cubs 5-4 on a walk-off, two-run home run by Randy Arozarena in the ninth inning. Arozarena also hit a leadoff homer earlier in the game, becoming the seventh player in MLB history to achieve both a leadoff and walk-off home run in the same game. He finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Mariners rookie pitcher Bryan Woo made his major league debut, pitching 5⅔ innings with three earned runs, five strikeouts, and 81 pitches. Woo, the third overall pick in the 2025 draft, allowed a run on two hits through five innings before giving up two solo homers in the sixth. Mariners reliever Tayler Saucedo earned his first win of the season.

The victory improved Seattle to 62-68, 3½ games behind the Texas Rangers in the AL West and two games back for the final wild-card spot. The Cubs fell to 74-56, losing their 4.5-game lead in the NL wild-card race. Chicago struck first in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Miguel Amaya.

Mariners utility man Josh Rojas was a late scratch after being hit in the head by a baseball in the batting cages; he was replaced at third base by Dylan Moore, who batted eighth.
