The Houston Astros signed outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. and lifted catcher Collin Price to the major‑league roster. Price will replace backup César Salazar, who was designated for assignment. Wade, released by the White Sox, had his last big‑league stint with the Angels last season.

Wade, a seven‑year veteran, posted a .236 average with 55 homers in his career. He spent the 2025 campaign in Triple‑A, while Price, a 2022 sixth‑round pick, hit .235 with 10 homers and 26 RBIs for Sugar Land this year.

The move also saw the Astros reinstate Joey Loperfido from the injured list, then option him and Zach Cole to Triple‑A. Outfielder Rhylan Thomas was designated for assignment. These roster shifts tighten the Astros’ depth chart as they aim for a playoff push.
